Friday 1st December
The Peg Me Hard Redux Mission is now on! We're attacking the wellington central library this time, Hoping to get a few hundred on people. Start up now (Either buy pre tagged pegs or buy your own and write 'Http://cacophony.org' on them). This is going until the 7th.

Sorry for lack of updates, Media section has a few new pictures. Including one of the tags we use (Dont on paper). Heironymous can edit the website, and CommanderKeen has limited abilities.

Sorry for the delay, but I have alot to deal with, work, life, you know the drill.
Added: Media Section! Due to people asking on the forums, it has been added. Hosted on this very website, the files wont get taken down by image hosts!

Sunday 22nd October
Soon, (Probably once there's more missions completed) There will be a section here for the media, and reports of completed missions. Look forward to it all!

FAQ

CacophonyNZ, who are you really?

Just one of the (relatively) higher-ups in the NZ Lodge of the Cacophony Society.

And what exactly does that mean you do?

I help people who want to get together to do just that.

Is this not against the law?

There is nothing illegal about Cacophony, sure, some things we may get in trouble for, but we're very careful. If any Member/Agent goes too far, (s)he either gets caught, or get's reprimanded by us.

What is the purpose of "Cacophony"

Read the wikipedia article, is it really that hard?

What sort of things do you do?

Anything non-political, fun, confusing, or just counter-intuitive.

Do you plan to update this website often?

When there's things to put on. There's already more that I should do, but I'm very busy.

Will others be helping you run this website?

Quite likely in the near future, but at the moment, no.

Will the FAQ get updated as people e-mail you with questions?

Definately, anything that gets asked more than once will get here, or if it's a fairly valid question it will get here. Simple.

This is the official website for the New Zealand Cacophony Society Lodge.

On this website, you will be able to see some of our completed missions, some of the things we have planned, and Press Releases for those who are curious about us.

By joining the Cacophony Society, we assume you are eccentric, intelligent, and prepared to go just a bit further than most to prove a point, or entertain yourself, or get excitement.

Cacophony is not an original idea. There are Cacophony Societies in many parts of America. We assume you're already some sort of bona fide eccentric or you wouldn't be interested in Cacophony at all. Our tagline, "You may already be a member!" says a lot about how we operate. In a sense, we never create anything new at all. We never claim to come into a town and teach people how to be amusingly subversive. They're already doing it! We just raise the bogus flag, and see who will gather under the flagpole for further mischief.
Obviously there are a lot of creative malcontents out there doing the stuff they like to do whether or not they've ever heard of our Society. We assume you're one of those. If you are, we're lucky. If you have a few like-minded friends, we're even luckier. And if you have some sort of near-evangelical fervor to spread the word, a lot of free time, maybe a bit of money, then you help yet one more city combust and cave in
The various lodges are different but bear a family resemblance to one another. Like families, they may squabble, envy, backstab, and inspire. If you're getting out of line, your family will let you know. If you don't like it, you can always run away with the name.

Cacophony is about fun.
We have no immediate aim to overthrow the government.
We are not a political organisation, but we will attend political rallies, to spice things up.
We do not have direct ties to Anarchists, Communists, Labour Party or extremists. Although we do not deny our members these political viewpoints.
Cacophony is not a terrorist organisation.
We are not out for revenge.
Small businesses should not be targeted.
We never hurt people or animals.
Cacophony is about culture jamming
Cacophony is about creating confusion.
Cacophony will pull public pranks, create guerrilla theatre, host public events and occasionally parties. However, as you may guess, creating confusion is our primary objective.
